Dancing Classrooms for Mountain Meadow Elementary Fifth Grade

Dancing Classrooms Greater Seattle is a program of Pacific Ballroom Dance located in Auburn. Dancing Classrooms is a nonprofit organization that was originally founded in 1994 in NYC and is dedicated to transforming lives one step at a time.

Their mission is to cultivate essential life skills in children through the practice of social dance. Their vision is to help create schools and communities where every child is connected, respected, and provided a safe environment in which to thrive.

The program runs for 10 weeks and is not just about teaching ballroom dancing. Dance is a tool for getting the children to break down social barriers, learn about honor and respect, treat others carefully, improve self-confidence, communicate and cooperate, and accept others even if they are different.

Principals and teachers in schools across the country are finding amazing results with the social climate and increased maturity level of students who have participated in this program. Mountain Meadow was very fortunate to be the first in our district to participate and has continued with the program.

This program is scheduled to begin in January of 2018. The program fee is $4500. Our goal is to raise this amount through various efforts starting with this social media promotion. We really want to keep this program for our 5th graders! Please help with any donations you can. THANK YOU!
